The tower sits atop Mount Cargill (or Kapuka-taumahaka in Māori), a 680 meter high volcanic outcrop that dominates the skyline in this city of 125,000 on the South Island. The view of the Otago Peninsula and surrounding country from this point is incredible. And a bit of trivia - Dunedin's Baldwin Street is the steepest street in the world with a maximum slope of 35%.
