sunken beauty

Pollywogg Hollër / Belmont, New York
As eerie as this image initially comes across, to me the sculpture also conveys a sense of aged elegance and beauty. If you ever find yourself in southwestern New York State, it is worth a stop though I think that the "holler" has recently become open to paid membership only unless you book as a guest at the eco-resort. It is a true hippy haven buried in the woods which throws you back in to the 60's with geodesic domes, home-made berry wine and live music to the tune of grateful dead and bob dylan.
